Holy Family School is a small catholic school located in the heart of Upstate New York. The school is a part of the Syracuse Diocese and is supported by 5 local parishes.

MISSION STATEMENT

Holy Family School (Pre-K – 8), an educational ministry of the Catholic parishes of Chenango County, exists to serve the families of these parishes and those families who accept the philosophy and mission of our school.

It is our mission to help our students strive for their personal excellence, both spiritually and academically. Our teachers challenge our students intellectually and motivate them to develop inquiring minds and a love for learning.

By building a strong foundation in morality, self-discipline, and respect, we help our students develop their character and God-given potential. We are dedicated to providing a safe and caring environment where individual responsibility and service to others are modeled and valued.

PHILOSOPHY

The philosophy of Holy Family School is based on the Pastoral Message on Catholic Education from the National Conference of Catholic Bishops, entitled “To Teach as Jesus Did”:

Christian education is intended to make one’s faith become living, conscious and
active, through the light of instruction.

The foremost mission of Holy Family School is to consider children as individuals in their formative years, accept them as they are, and helping them to develop basic affective, cognitive and psychomotor skills in order to become better Christians, conscious of their duties toward God, themselves and their neighbors.
